About Close Action Airsoft
Close Action Airsoft plays at Grafton Park on the old RAF Grafton Underwood airfield in Northamptonshire, which opened in 1941 and was later home to the B-17 Flying Fortresses of the USAAF 384th Bomb Group. The site runs one skirmish day a month, always on a Sunday: short, sharp games in the morning and longer objective led scenarios after lunch, with bunkers and structures on the ground. It is a not for profit club, so every pound goes back into the site, and a large team of player marshals plays alongside everyone to keep games fair. Players arrive at 09:00, the safety briefing is at 09:45, play starts at 10:00, lunch is at 12:45 and play ends at 16:00, earlier in winter. Walk on is £20 with no booking needed, and cash is brought on the day. The £45 hire package covers the walk on fee, a gun, 3,000 rounds, a face mask and a camo jacket, with five hire guns per game at most, reserved by email. Membership is £120 a year with nothing more to pay. Players must be 16 or older unless accompanied by a playing adult, and all players sign a disclaimer before their first game.
