About South Coast CQB
South Coast CQB plays in a former military camp on Browndown Road at Lee-on-the-Solent, overlooking the Solent. The camp was used by the Royal Marines Small Arms Corps, as a minor training facility and as a weekend training centre for army cadets, and in 2002 it became the 1950s National Service camp for the ITV show Bad Lads Army. The playing area has several single storey buildings and a double storey building giving overwatch across the parade ground, with windows and doors removed and barricades built across the open areas. Games are fast paced, last no longer than 40 minutes and switch objectives, and some are reversed so both teams attack and defend. Saturday and Sunday open days cost £30, paid as a £10 deposit when booking and £20 on the day, and evening games cost £15. Every player must be booked in advance by name. Rentals at £20 with full face protection and 1000 BBs have been offered when booked in advance, but the website currently says no rentals are available. Snacks, ammo and pyro are sold at reception, and tea and coffee are free all day. Players must be over 14, with a guardian playing on site for ages 14 to 16.
