Archwick launches the AWS system

Archwick has released its AWS gas blowback system, a trigger, bolt, hop up and magazine set first shown at MOA 2025, and it debuts in the L119A2 Ultimate Edition.

Archwick has released its AWS system, a new set of internal parts for its gas blowback rifles, and the first replica to carry it is the L119A2 Ultimate Edition. The release was reported by Airsoft Milsim News on 26/06/2026.

Four parts in one system

AWS is made up of four components: the Type A Trigger Set, the Bolt Set, the Hop Up Set and the AWS GBB Magazine. Archwick first showed the system in production ready form at MOA 2025, the trade show held in Taiwan, and it has now reached release.

The company says the trigger has a crisp break with no creep. It has not published individual specifications for the bolt or hop unit, and no price for the parts sold separately has been given. We will add those details if Archwick confirms them.

Why the L119A2

The L119A2 is the British designation for a carbine built by Colt Canada on its C8 family of rifles. Variants of the C8 are issued to UK Special Forces. It became well known outside military circles after an SAS operative was seen carrying one during a counter terror operation in Nairobi, Kenya, and it has had something of a cult following among replica collectors ever since.

That makes it a natural choice for a launch. The Ultimate Edition label points to a model aimed at players who want the full set of upgraded parts from the start rather than buying them one by one.

What it means for players

Gas blowback rifles live or die on consistency. A trigger that breaks cleanly, a bolt that cycles reliably and a magazine that holds pressure in cold weather matter far more on a UK winter weekend than a list of headline features. If AWS delivers on that, it will be good news for anyone who already owns an Archwick rifle and wants to bring it up to the same standard.

The obvious question is compatibility. Archwick has not said in the material we have seen whether AWS parts can be fitted to its existing rifles, or whether the new magazine works in older models. Players who already have a stock of magazines will want to know before buying.

We expect more detail as the L119A2 Ultimate Edition reaches retailers and the first owners report back from the field. As with any new gas system, we would suggest waiting for a few user reports before committing to a full set of spares.
