Ehasa ry, the Finnish airsoft association, has announced Battlegroup 2026, a multi day military simulation game for more than 700 players. The association published details on 11 March 2026. The event takes place on a real military training area at Halli, in the Jämsä region of central Finland.
The event
Players are split into factions and play continuously over several days, living in the field rather than going home at night. The game uses vehicles and dedicated recon teams, and players are organised into units with a chain of command.
The factions
For 2026 the organiser lists four factions. The Coalition of Nordberg, the Northern Royal Guard and the Northern Iron Rule are the fighting sides. A fourth faction, the Civilians, plays the population of the fictional region. Civilian players add a layer that a normal skirmish lacks, because fighting sides must deal with people who are not their enemy.
The organiser has not yet confirmed the dates of the 2026 event in the material we have seen. We will add them once they are confirmed.
Using a real training area gives the organiser space that few private sites can offer. Large woods, open ground and built up areas can all sit inside one game, and the distances mean that patrols, supply and movement become part of the challenge. Vehicles can move across the area in a way that would be unsafe on a smaller site.
It also brings rules. Training areas have their own safety and access requirements, and organisers have to follow them. Players should expect strict rules on where they can go, on vehicles and on fires.
What it means for players
Large milsim events demand more preparation than a normal game day. Players need kit for several days in the field, including food, water, a sleeping system and spare batteries or gas. Finnish weather can change quickly, so warm and waterproof clothing matters even in summer.
Players travelling from abroad should check the organiser's rules on replica transport and on which countries' players can attend. Many large European events publish detailed player guides that cover power limits, faction kit and arrival times.
We will report the dates and any other details as Ehasa ry releases them.
