Berget 22, Operation Fort Knox, took place in June 2026 near Sollefteå in Västernorrland, northern Sweden. The event ran from 21:00 on 24/06/2026 until 15:00 on 27/06/2026 and was set up for 1,500 players.
A familiar battlefield, a new story
The organisers chose to return to a battlefield that players had enjoyed at earlier editions, with a road network, a nearby town and a mix of terrain. The storyline was new, and the factions were reworked for this year.
Berget has always been more than a shooting game, and the roleplay side grew again. Alongside soldiers, the event offered civilian roles such as traders, gangsters and politicians, so that the fighting sat inside a wider story with its own economy and politics. Capture points remained a core part of play.
The BAVS system, which governs how vehicles take part in the game, was developed further. Vehicles were limited in how often and how many times they could reload, which stops a single armoured car from dominating the field for the whole weekend.
Tickets and the long build up
Tickets went on sale at 20:00 CET on 16/11/2025. Players who booked in the first 24 hours paid an early bird price of 159 EUR, after which the price rose to 199 EUR. For a continuous game of almost three days, that compares well with many large events in Europe.
The series has a long history. Berget 5, held in June 2007 on Hemsö, drew about 2,000 players split across four teams, and the event has since become one of the best known milsim fixtures on the continent.
What it means for UK players
Berget is a serious trip from the UK. Sollefteå is a long way north, the game runs through the night, and in late June there is very little darkness that far up. Players who go tend to travel as a team and plan transport, food and kit well in advance.
The appeal is the scale and the continuity. A game that runs without a break for almost three days, with civilians, vehicles and a story that develops as it goes, is very different from a Sunday skirmish. It also asks more of players physically, and the organisers expect people to follow the event rules closely.
We will report on the plans for the next edition once the organisers publish dates and ticket details. Anyone thinking of going should watch for the ticket release, as the early bird window in 2025 lasted only a day.
