EMG has revealed a fully licensed airsoft replica of the Daniel Defense PCC 916, the pistol calibre carbine that the American maker brought out in 2025. The replica was reported by Airsoft Milsim News on 9 January 2026 and is now on pre-order.

What EMG has confirmed

EMG says the replica carries deep engraved Daniel Defense markings and is built with an aluminium alloy body. The controls are ambidextrous, and a full length Picatinny rail runs along the top for optics and lights. The trademarks are licensed, so the markings match those of the real carbine.

Early retailer listings describe the replica as a gas blowback rifle with a 13.5 inch licensed Daniel Defense handguard. EMG has not yet published a full specification, and no price, gas type or delivery date has been confirmed. We will add those details once the maker releases them.

The real carbine

The Daniel Defense PCC is a 9mm carbine that works by direct blowback. In its review of 18 August 2025, Shooting Illustrated described a 16 inch hammer forged barrel, a Kynshot hydraulic buffer and ambidextrous controls. The real gun feeds from CZ Scorpion pattern magazines and is supplied with a 35 round magazine. It weighs about 7.05 lb and carried a list price of US$1,949 in the United States. Daniel Defense offers the PCC in three versions.

Using an existing magazine pattern is common in the pistol calibre carbine world, because owners can share magazines with pistols or other carbines. For airsoft players the question is whether the replica follows that idea and accepts magazines already on the market. EMG has not said so, and players should wait for the full specification before buying spare magazines.

What it means for players

Pistol calibre carbines are popular in close quarters games, where a short, light gun is easier to handle in corridors and doorways than a full length rifle. A licensed carbine with ambidextrous controls should suit left handed players and anyone who switches shoulders around cover.

EMG has built up a range of licensed American rifles over the past few years, and Daniel Defense rails are already common on airsoft builds.

UK buyers should remember that a realistic imitation firearm can only be sold to someone with a valid defence, such as being a regular skirmisher at an insured site. A two tone version may be sold without one. We will report the price and the first deliveries when EMG confirms them.
