EMG has announced a limited run gas blowback rifle made with Noveske and WRMFZY Gypsy. Airsoft Milsim News reported the rifle on 30 May 2026, citing EMG.

The rifle

The replica is an AR pattern gas blowback rifle. It has a custom rattle can finish, a hand sprayed camouflage of the kind that soldiers and owners have long applied to their own rifles. It has a retro teardrop forward assist and a custom Noveske Gen 4 carry handle. The lower receiver carries an exclusive Noveske and WRMFZY Gypsy engraving.

EMG says the rifle will be made in limited quantity. No price, number of units or release date was given.

Who is involved

Noveske Rifleworks is an American rifle maker known for high quality AR pattern rifles and barrels. EMG holds a licence for Noveske designs and has produced Noveske replicas for several years.

WRMFZY Gypsy is the third partner named on the project. The collaboration combines Noveske's licensed markings with a look that recalls older American rifles, such as the carry handle and the teardrop forward assist.

A rattle can finish is camouflage applied with spray paint, often with leaves or netting used as stencils. It started as a practical way for soldiers to break up the outline of a black rifle in the field. It is now also a style of its own, and many players paint their own replicas this way.

A factory finish saves the owner the work and the risk of getting it wrong. It also keeps markings clear, which can be lost when owners paint over them.

What it means for players

A limited run rifle is aimed as much at collectors as at players. Buyers should expect it to sell out, and should not expect a second run. Those who plan to use it in games should remember that a sprayed finish will wear with use, which some owners see as part of its character.

As a gas blowback rifle it shares the strengths and weaknesses of other gas guns. It should have felt recoil and a working bolt, but it will use more gas and work less well in cold weather. Players should check their site's rules on gas rifles and on which gases are allowed. In the UK, any realistic replica must be bought with a valid defence, such as being a regular skirmisher at an insured site. We will report the price and release date when EMG confirms them.
