EMG has released an officially licensed replica of the Staccato 2011 XC as a gas blowback pistol. The announcement was reported by Airsoft Milsim News on 03/07/2026.
Staccato is an American maker of double stack pistols based on the 2011 pattern, a design that keeps the feel of a classic single action pistol but holds more rounds in a wider grip. The XC is the competition minded model in the range, built around a compensator that helps keep the muzzle flat during fast shooting.
What EMG has made
According to EMG, the replica has a full metal frame and a slide cut to take an RMR style red dot sight without an adapter plate. The compensator is integrated into the design rather than added as a separate muzzle device, and there is a fibre optic front sight for quick target pick up. The grip carries the Staccato Master Grip texture, which is meant to give a secure hold with or without gloves.
EMG has not stated the magazine capacity, the gas type or a price in the material we have seen. We will update this report when those details are confirmed, and when UK availability is known.
Where it fits
EMG has built up a range of licensed replicas over the past few years by working with American gun makers and competition brands. A Staccato pistol fits that pattern well. The name means something to players who follow practical and competition shooting.
For airsoft use, the features that matter most are the slide cut and the grip. A red dot that mounts directly on the slide sits lower and is less likely to work loose than one held on an adapter plate. A textured grip helps when hands are wet or cold, which is the normal state of affairs on a UK site from October to March.
What it means for players
Pistols built on the 2011 pattern have long been popular in airsoft, and many players already own Hi-Capa magazines and parts. Until EMG confirms which magazines the Staccato takes, players should not assume their existing spares will fit.
The compensator is also worth thinking about. On a real pistol it reduces recoil by redirecting gas. On a gas blowback replica it is largely a matter of looks and balance, so players should judge the pistol on its gas efficiency, hop consistency and trigger rather than on the muzzle device.
We expect the first user reviews to arrive as stock reaches shops around the world. As always, UK buyers will need a valid defence for buying a realistic imitation firearm, such as membership of a registered site.
