MilSim West held Jump To Orenburg at Horseshoe Bend Ranch from 25 to 27 September 2026. It was the first of three events the American organiser has scheduled for the autumn, with two more to follow in October and November.

MilSim West is a veteran owned company founded in 2012. Its events are run as continuous military simulations over a full weekend, and it is known for placing current and former military personnel in the player chain of command. That gives the games a structure that is closer to a real operation than a typical skirmish day, with orders passed down from command to squad level.

The three autumn events share a campaign setting built around places in Russia and the Caucasus. Jump To Orenburg takes its name from the Russian city near the border with Kazakhstan, and the later events follow the same theme.

The autumn schedule

After Jump To Orenburg, the season continues with The Volga Bridge at Broxton Bridge Plantation from 29 to 31 October 2026. The third event, The Derbent Corridor, is set for Camp Hugh Taylor Birch from 13 to 15 November 2026. Each event is at a different venue, which gives regular players different ground each time.

We have not been able to confirm ticket prices or player numbers for the three events from the organiser's published material, so we have left them out.

What it means for players

Weekend long milsim is a different kind of game from a Sunday at a local site. Players sleep in the field, carry their own food and water, and follow a chain of command for the whole event. The physical demands are higher, and the rules on loadouts and ammunition are usually stricter.

The use of veterans in command roles is one of the features that sets MilSim West apart. For players who have never served, it offers a rare chance to work within a structure built by people who have. For veterans, it is a way to use their experience in a setting that is safe and voluntary.

UK players who want to try this style of play have options closer to home, as several British organisers now run weekend milsim events. Those who travel to the United States for an event of this kind should plan for the weather, the long hours and the need for a full set of personal kit.

What happens next

We will report on The Volga Bridge and The Derbent Corridor as the dates approach, and on any plans MilSim West announces for 2027.
