Specna Arms has added licences from Colt and Knight's Armament Company to its range, two days after announcing a deal with FN Herstal. Both agreements were made with EMG Arms and were reported by Airsoft Milsim News on 31 January 2026.
The Colt licence
Under the Colt licence, Specna Arms plans two short carbines. The first is an M4 CQBR fitted with a licensed Knight's Armament Quad Rail. The second is an MK18 with a licensed Daniel Defense rail. Both are well known in the real world as short barrelled carbines used by American special operations units.
The Knight's Armament licence
The Knight's Armament licence covers what Specna Arms describes as several classic KAC models. It has not said which ones. Work on them is already underway.
Knight's Armament, based in Florida, is known for the SR-25 rifle, the Quad Rail and a range of suppressors and accessories. Its rails and rifles appear on many famous American builds, which is why licensed KAC parts are popular with players who copy real loadouts.
No prices, specifications or release dates have been given for any of the new replicas.
Together with the FN Herstal deal reported on 29 January, these announcements give Specna Arms licences from three major makers in one week. Licences let a maker use correct trademarks and markings, which many players want, especially for milsim kit that is meant to match a real unit and period.
For players, it means the CQBR and MK18, two of the most copied carbines in airsoft, will be available with correct markings from a budget brand. Specna Arms guns are widely used as first rifles, so this could put licensed carbines into the hands of many newer players.
What happens next
We expect Specna Arms to show the first licensed models before it gives prices. As with the FN replicas, the key questions are the gearbox, the hop up and the magazines, which Specna Arms has not covered yet. We will report the details once they are published.
In the UK, any realistic replica must be bought with a valid defence, such as being a regular skirmisher at an insured site.
