Tokyo Marui has released a gas blowback pistol based on the sidearm carried by Takina Inoue, one of the two main characters in the anime Lycoris Recoil. The pistol is priced at 32,800 yen excluding tax and is sold for buyers aged 18 and over in Japan, according to the company's product page.

Lycoris Recoil is an original anime series made by the Japanese studio A-1 Pictures. It aired from July to September 2022 and follows two young agents in a secret organisation in Tokyo. Takina Inoue is the more serious of the pair, and her pistol is seen in many of the action scenes. The replica was produced in collaboration with the series.

What Tokyo Marui has made

The pistol has a titanium grey slide on a black frame. The slide is long, with straight serrations and no markings, and the grooves on the rail under the frame have been filled in to match the design in the anime. The barrel tip has three grooves, and the rear sight has a U shaped notch.

It is 213 mm long, has a 90 mm barrel and weighs 636 g. The hop up is variable, the pistol fires in semi automatic only, and it is designed for BBs of 0.2 to 0.25 g. It runs on HFC134a gas.

The magazine holds 25 rounds and is styled to look like a limited 10 round magazine, matching how it appears on screen. A spare magazine costs 4,980 yen excluding tax.

What it means for players

Collaborations between replica makers and anime or games are common in Japan, and Tokyo Marui has done several in recent years. For most players outside Japan, this pistol is more of a collector's item than a skirmish choice, and its value lies in the distinctive look.

As a working replica, it has the usual Tokyo Marui strengths: a fixed, modest power level, a variable hop up and a body built to the company's tested standards. HFC134a gas is weaker than the green gas common in the UK, so in a British winter it will be less efficient. Players who want to use it in games should test it in the conditions they play in.

Tokyo Marui rarely sells directly outside Japan, and limited collaboration products can be hard to find abroad. UK buyers will depend on importers, and the price will rise once shipping, duty and VAT are added.

What happens next

The Lycoris Recoil collaboration has its own range at the Tokyo Marui Festival on 31 October and 1 November 2026. We will report if the company announces more products from the series.
