VFC launched a silver version of its Walther PPK/S gas blowback pistol on 14/10/2026. The replica is licensed by Umarex and carries licensed Walther markings. The release was reported by Airsoft Milsim News on 15/10/2026.
The PPK/S belongs to the Walther PP family of compact pistols made by Carl Walther in Germany. They are simple blowback pistols, meaning the slide is pushed back by the pressure of the shot rather than by a locking mechanism. The PP family has a long history with police forces and as a concealed carry pistol, and the PPK is also widely known from film.
What VFC has made
The silver finish follows the stainless steel versions of the real pistol. Like VFC's earlier PPK/S, it can be field stripped. It has a working hammer decocker and grip panels that can be swapped.
Inside, VFC has used a large bore cylinder and a CNC machined cylinder valve. The fixed outer barrel is steel, as are the safety and hammer parts, which are the areas most likely to wear or break on a small gas pistol.
No price was given in the release we have seen, and VFC has not stated the magazine capacity in that material. We will add those details when they are confirmed.
What it means for players
The PPK/S is a small pistol, and that has always been both its appeal and its limit in airsoft. It is easy to carry and suits a backup or a covert role, but a small magazine and a small gas reservoir mean fewer shots per fill. In a cold British winter, compact gas pistols often struggle most of all.
The steel parts are a welcome detail. On small replicas, a broken safety or hammer is a common failure, and steel parts should help the pistol last.
The silver finish is a matter of taste. For a collector or a player building a character loadout, it will appeal. For a woodland skirmish, a bright pistol is easier to spot, but it is unlikely to see much use as a primary in any case.
What happens next
We expect the silver PPK/S to reach shops in the coming weeks. As with any realistic imitation firearm, UK buyers will need a valid defence, such as membership of a registered site, to buy one. We will report on any further colours or versions VFC announces.
